CaseMax uses a firm’s Exchange service to allow email and calendar appointments to be sent from workflow almost as quickly as waving a wand. Back in the days of the 17.3 Release, CaseMax introduced automated email, and it has been growing ever since. Automated email may be created on demand with the Automated Email Wizard, but even better than that is not having to remember to send email in the first place. The system can send a standard email message when a milestone is reached, or a duration has passed and the content to send is easily configured using a template.
If the recipient requires additional documentation, that too is a snap. The email template may include images as attachments and the system can perform validations to ensure a message is not sent if the documentation is not available. Finally, don’t spend energy wondering if the email is merging well; a review before sending can be added to the workflow.

Calendaring
Email is not the only electronic communication CaseMax is able to send. Something as small as scheduling a hearing and saving the page can be enough to trigger the system to send a calendar event to the hearing attendees. In addition to the normal invitation elements like date, time, and place, the hearing calendar appointment can even contain the latest prep notes for the attorney. If the hearing date is changed the previous appointment is cancelled and a new appointment is sent.
