Service of Process (SOP)
Although the vendors may be called Summons Delivery Services in our maintenance tables, the information we process from the integration we call "Service of Process" or SOP transactions includes much more than merely who received a summons.
The first two transactions, sent on behalf of the law firm, give the selected vendor general information about the case, party names, and their addresses. CaseMax uses customized data to support different business practices and jurisdictional requirements. When the Summons Delivery Service requires additional data, so they may file the suit on behalf of the law firm, CaseMax delivers it. The SOP transactions are available for all standard default processes including unsecured collection processes.
Neither the law firm nor the vendor need to spend time generating and sending individual summons packages for each unique party and address because CaseMax handles it systematically. When the CaseMax processes the result of each individual notification from the updates provided by the Summons Delivery Vendor, it also systematically associates documents, such as the Affidavit of Service with the specific notification. Not only does the defendant get the required documents, but the system knows what each defendant got and will index documents and notify the firm when all required documents have been received.
